The Great Sherbet Search

Quick update since I have lots to do! What do I have to do, you ask? Well I am on the hunt — and this is a true hunt — for raspberry sherbet. Not rainbow sherbet. Not orange sherbet. Not raspberry sorbet. And I just found out it isn’t spelled sherbert like I always thought!

I went through this last year. I ran all around the city to supermarkets looking for raspberry. The brand? America’s Choice. The container? 32 oz, clear. I was so happy when I finally found it last year that I did a little dance in the freezer aisle.

And here I am again this year. Same problem. I see rainbow. I see orange. I see another flavor that I can’t remember (the third in the rainbow with orange and raspberry.) Why do I so desperately need raspberry sherbet? I make a special summer pie. It is the best summer pie and everyone always loves it. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and I will be attending a barbecue and want nothing more than to shock everyone with the wonder that is my summer pie. And by my summer pie, I mean my mom’s summer pie. Thanks, mom.

Last year things didn’t work out and I ended up having to eat it all myself.

I will be thrilled to post my recipe — but not until after I find my raspberry sherbet, make the pie and take lots of pictures of it. Now you all have something to look forward to!

Hint: it involves graham cracker crust and is the easiest pie you will ever make.

So after work today, instead of walking the same 5 mile route as Monday (the PT said walking is fine! yay!) as planned, I will be going from supermarket to supermarket on the hunt for my sherbet. Wish me luck, kids.

I’m tempted to wake up early tomorrow and walk to work…. but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I’m getting very excited for the long weekend and the weeks ahead, as I have lots of fun and new activities planned! I’ll get more into this as the time gets closer.

Also, I really want need these:

Chocolate that cures acne. I know, probably ridiculous. But. I want. The company recommends eating “between two and five chocolates a day for the fastest results.” OK! Sign me up.
