It makes sense that December is the time for giveaways! Before we get to today’s, I will announce the winner of the Core Fusion Bootcamp DVD. I used the Random Integer Generator and I am very happy to announce that Diana from My Marble Rye is the winner! Diana said: My goal is to run a 10k or a half!!! I hope I can do it!!!
OF COURSE you can do it! Congratulations Diana! Email me your address and I will have that DVD sent right to you.
When I did a Cooler Cleanse review and giveaway over the summer, it went really well. I loved my three-day juice cleanse and so many readers wanted to win a free one! So when my friends at Cooler Cleanse reached out to me and told me about their new program. Healing Cooler, I jumped at the chance to help again. The concept and the motivation behind Healing Cooler is dramatically different from that of other juicing programs.
The main difference — and what I especially like about Healing Cooler — is that it is NOT marketed as a cleanse or a fast. Upon visiting the website, you see a montage of pictures with phrases such as “Send help for a speedier recovery.” And their slogan is “A healing gift from the heart.”
What does this mean? It means that Healing Cooler promotes juicing as a way to get vital nutrients to assist with healing.
On the What’s Inside Our Juices page, they clearly state the following: Our pressing method means that Healing Cooler juices stay potent for three days when kept chilled. Nowhere on the website do they encourage you to drink all six juices in a day or substitue juices for a day’s worth of food. And while you certainly could (and it is arguably most effective), that is not the main point of this gift. The Healing Cooler is a way to give someone vital nutrients to help them heal, whether it be over the course of one day or three. No matter how you drink your Healing Cooler juices, you will get the amazing benefits of juice!
From their site:
Give a gift of health and happiness to someone you care about. Opening a Healing Cooler, the recipient will find six fresh pressed juices bursting with flavor and nutrition. They’re potent aids for refreshing and reviving the body when it’s down, or boosting its daily defenses.
For centuries, people have used premium fruit and vegetable juices to maintain and build good health. Today’s extremely efficient juicing methods extract the maximum amount of goodness from ripe, organic produce. That makes pressed juice one of nature’s most powerful — and delicious — pick-me-ups.
Whether you send a Healing Cooler to lend your support or just to say “Thank you,†there’s no more thoughtful way to show you care about someone’s well-being than to give a cooler filled with fresh pressed juices.
Designed as a gift, there are four options of juice packages to give:
The Immunity, Strength and Recovery are each designed with specific juices meant to aid in these functions. On each page you can read more about the juices included and why they were chosen. It is clear that a great deal of thought and research was put into designing these programs. The idea is that you give a gift to someone in your life who needs a boost in one of these areas. For $60, it is a very reasonable gift and also very thoughtful — especially during these cold winter months.
You might be wondering how the juices actually taste. I know the idea of vegetable juice might not sound so appealing, no matter how many times I swear they taste better than you think. Healing Cooler sent me a free pack of six juices to try as part of this promotion. I opted for Create Your Own because I wanted to try juices from Immunity, Strength AND Recovery.
First, let me say this is an awesome gift to receive. It gets delivered in an insulated box that acts like a cooler. I loved the ice pack!
The Healing Cooler also includes an optional handwritten card:
I got my own sweet handwritten card from Healing Cooler! I loved it. And how cute is that box.
My thoughts on the juices I tried:
Green Leaf (Immunity, Strength, Recovery) – DELICIOUS. You might think green juice sounds yucky, but I promise you will find this tasty. If you’ve done Blueprint Cleanse, there is a great chance you think green juice is gross. This tastes NOTHING like their green juice — I SWEAR. You can hold me to this. A delicious, super healthy blend of vegetables, lightly sweetened with pear.
Kale & Co (Immunity, Strength) – LOVED. I was nervous about this one because it contains apple, which I thought might be the reason I didn’t like Blueprint’s green juice. But this is totally different! The apple is so subtle and provides just the right amount of sweetness. The watercress really added to this one. I would drink this every day if I could!
Pineapple Kiwi (Immunity) – Very good, tasted much more of pineapple than kiwi.
Pear Mint (Immunity) – I didn’t love this one the way I expected to, but it was a good juice.
Ten Veggie (Strength) – Lots and lots of vegetables in one! Crazy! I wasn’t sure if I would like this because I tend not to like juices that contain tomato, but I really enjoyed this one. The beet and carrot are strong flavors that bring down the tomato, so it is just a really delicious mix.
Red Veggie (Strength) – At first sip I thought “holy tomato!” I didn’t think I liked it, but I am happy to report that as I continued drinking it I got used to this one and ended up really liking it. I wouldn’t choose it over the others greens or the Ten Veggie, but it was much better than I expected it to be considering it contained tomato juice.
I really enjoyed my juices. I planned to drink them all in one day but ended up splitting it up over three. To each her own! That is the beauty of the Healing Cooler.
Hopefully you all think this is as awesome as I do because I’ve got FIVE of these babies to give away.
Giveaway rules:
You can get up to two entries.
(1) Entry one consists of TWO parts:

December 21, 2010 at 10:32 am (14 years ago)I would like to create my own because all of the juices sound delicious! I also think you know which ones I would like best so I would ask your advice if I won!

December 21, 2010 at 10:40 am (14 years ago)i think the create your own cooler would be the best one to win since you get to try the most amount of juices. after reading the descriptions of the drinks, it seems like you get a really good balance of fruits and veggies (and different flavor profiles) by creating your own. this seems like a great juice pack because… it is not marketing itself as a cleanse, but as something in addition to your normal lifestyle.

December 21, 2010 at 11:07 am (14 years ago)I would choose “Create Your Own” because I feel that I have a need for juices from all three of the coolers. I would love to try a few juices from the Immunity cooler because I tend to get a cold every single month, especially during the winter season. I definitely need the Vitamin C in the juices to act as a preventative and healing aid for my body. I would like to try the Green Leaf from the Recovery cooler after reading this, “These greens are highly alkalinizing to your cells — this counters the damage done by the corrosive acidic waste products created when digesting meat, sugar and dairy.” I definitely consume more dairy and sugar than I would like so I think I could greatly benefit from this juice. I think the Kale & Co. and Ten Veggie from the Strength cooler would be great for me since I am iron-deficient and do not consume enough veggies in my diet each day. I think drinking these juices would be a great way to jump start my health in 2011.

December 21, 2010 at 11:51 am (14 years ago)Create your own because matching your cleanse to your tastebuds will make you more successful, one size fits all is something I didn’t like about other cleanses. I want to cleanse to feel renewed and rejuvenated and healthy again.

December 21, 2010 at 11:55 am (14 years ago)I also just posted on the Cooler Cleanse Facebook page, saying I want to try the 3-day cooler cleanse to jumpstart a healthy new year!

December 21, 2010 at 12:03 pm (14 years ago)The create your own because it lets you suit your cleanse to your tastebuds, which should make the cleanse more successful, I have always felt some cleanse are annoying for not allowing you to modify to your preference. I want to cleanse to feel healthy and renewed!

December 21, 2010 at 12:42 pm (14 years ago)I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse but have been hesitant because of all the negative associations that go with the word “cleanse.” That said, the Cooler Cleanse looks like it would be a great way to allow the body to find a natural place to balance at.
I would love to try the Strength cooler & posted on their FB saying so.

December 21, 2010 at 8:19 pm (14 years ago)Same that I posted onto Healing Cooler’s facebook page:
I’d be most interested in trying the strength cooler. Being that I’m a lover of vegetable juices with minimal fruit, the strength seems to be a perfect fit for me. Especially after the abundance of holiday treats that have been consumed lately. It would be great to give my digestive system a little break!

December 21, 2010 at 8:55 pm (14 years ago)Here’s what I posted on FB: I found you through Dori’s blog. I’d love to try the Strength cooler in January. Since I’m in the midst of training for a figure competition it’s extra important that my immune system be at the top of it’s game.

I have my fingers crossed right now that I can win this giveaway. It would be awesome, a hohoho Christmas present for sure. As a mom, wife, and grad student this past semester was a very busy one for me and there is nothing more I would like than a cleanse to start the year right!
Thanks for this giveaway, it is a super nice one!

I would love to win the Strenght Cleanse, this is an awesome giveaway!
The reason why I would love to win this giveaway is that I had a rough and super busy 2010, being a mom, wife, and grad student is not easy. Studying took all of my free time and along with it a lot of my strength.
It would simply be amazing to start the new year with a great cleanse, I can’t think of anything better than that to be quite true. It would give me the strength and a great feeling to begin my next semester on a happy way!
Plus who wouldn’t like to try those juices? I love vegetables and fruits, definitely my favorite food group. I am very healthy conscious and a proponent of real foods, I am pursuing a Masters in Nutrition after all!
Winning this cleanse would be absolutely awesome! I have all my ten fingers crossed, plus the ten toes for good measure!

December 22, 2010 at 1:44 pm (14 years ago)Ok, so I really really really REALLY want this for myself, but since it’s meant to be a healthy “gift from the heart” I am going to enter this contest with the hope of winning this for my dear friend Laura. She’s an awesome single mom in NJ to a fabulous little boy. She’s had a pretty rough go of things in the last decade or so: unlucky in love, works a tough job (including weekends), has extended family to care for… and yet despite it all she is one of the only people who has consistently (and without whining!) been there for me in all aspects of my life. We’ve known each other since high school (25 years!) and no matter what turmoil and trouble she’s facing in her own life, she has always been a rock and a true friend. Lately, she has been pretty down, heartbroken, and worn out by the flu (a sure sign that she needs a healthy boost!) So, for Laura, I’m entering her to win the cooler you feel would best meet her needs. I’ll say maybe the “Immunity” one but I’ll let the experts decide. Please pick me – I can’t think of a better gift to give a well-deserving friend who truly needs the benefits of healing. I love her with all my heart and think a healing cooler would send a little love right back into her system. Thank you!! (ps. no Twitter account, can’t tweet. Sorry 🙁 )

December 22, 2010 at 1:46 pm (14 years ago)If I had to choose on of your fantastic coolers, I would probably choose Immunity. I would choose this one because during the winter I tend to get sicker more. I think alot of this is due to my crazy 12 shifts I work and my continue training I do for my next half-marathon. I feel it would helpnbuild up my immunity during this time of year plus the juice selection sounds fantastic.

December 26, 2010 at 2:44 am (14 years ago)So awesome! I’d love to create my own..basically a combo of Strength+Recovery. Perfect for post-holiday de-stressing and staying healthy in this cold weather!
Manon
December 26, 2010 at 1:22 pm (14 years ago)I would have to go with a ‘create your own’, because as always, I’m all over the place and of course couldn’t pick one! Between trying to fight the germs flying around in my cubicle farm workplace, and getting back into a training plan, I need a balance of immunity/strength/recovery!
Chelsa
December 27, 2010 at 2:34 am (14 years ago)My personal choice for a Healing Cooler Cleanse would be the Create Your Own option. I have terrible allergies and live in an area that makes them even worse. I also ALWAYS get sick (an like usual am sick now!) and my Christmas break from school is miserable. The last three Christmases I have been sick and not been able to enjoy the holiday season as much as I would like. To top it all off, I am a registered nurse and need to be healthy so I can take care of ill patients. A combo cleanse of immunity, strength, and recovery would be the perfect way to begin my final two stressful semesters of graduate school, and help me to start my career as a nurse practitioner healthy, happy, and with more energy.
