A B C Dori

I’ve seen this ABCs survey trending around the blag world and it is an interesting way to learn some facts about people that might not typically come up in their blogs. Fun stuffs.

A. Age: 27 (for two more weeks)

B. Bed size: Full. Interesting fact: I slept in the same bed from age 2 to 23. Then I moved to the city and needed a bed big enough for gentleman callers.

C. Chore you hate: Dishes and other things that function like dishes.

D. Dogs: I love my niece Santana as if she were my own. How can I love a pup this much who isn’t mine‽

E. Essential start to your day: Coffee. I get really excited to go to sleep because it means soon I can wake up and drink coffee.

F. Favorite color: I recently started loving purple. Not long ago I made a pact with myself to wear something purple every single day. While I don’t yet have much purple clothing (YET), I’ve been getting purple manicures and I have a purple purse and two purple necklaces.

I was disappointed when I ordered Hunter boots pictured as so:

But instead these arrived:

The old Nordstrom bait and switch. They are still purple though.

G. Gold or silver: Gold. I found myself slowly switching to wearing (and buying) gold jewelry more often over the last year and now I almost never wear my silver.

H. Height: 5’5. My driver’s license says 5’4 because my best friend and I thought even numbers sounded better. Her 5’7 self’s license says 5’6.

I. Instruments you play: In fifth grade, they attached piano keyboards to our Macintosh computers and we used special piano-teaching software and learned to play! I learned the notes and a few songs. I started getting confused when I advanced to the two-handed songs. There is only so much a 10-year old can learn from a computer.

J. Job title: Content Management Coordinator. A dramatic difference from my previous title: Assistant Vice President, Product Analyst II. I never even knew what a Product Analyst even was, much less the second iteration.

K. Kids: Yes, need. I suppose I’d need a boy first. Anyone have a crush on me?

L. Live: On March 20, my roommate and I will celebrate five years in our 320 square foot apartment. It has no closets and no living room or common area. It costs more than my brother’s three-bedroom, huge living room, big backyard Seattle-area house. NYC living!

M. Mom’s name: Ronni (anyone else notice that lots of Jewish moms are named Ronni/Ronnie?)

N. Nicknames: Dor, Dor v’Dor, Heather, D

O. Overnight hospital stays: Not technically, although I did spend an entire night in the ER because they messed up a test and had to re-do it. So while it wasn’t an official “you have to stay in the hospital overnight” situation, I did end up not getting to leave the hospital until 6 am.

P. Pet peeve: People who say “ironic” when what they mean is “coincidence.” Also, people who don’t know how to walk.

Q. Quote from a movie: Short attention span. TV quotes. My favorites:

    • “No look, I’m you from the future. I’ve come to warn you that in 3 million years you’ll be dead!”
      -Arnold Rimmer, Red Dwarf

    • “That’s what you do when life hands you a chance to be with someone special. You just grab that brownish area by its points and you don’t let go no matter what your mom says.”
      – Buster Bluth, Arrested Development

  • “How much could a banana cost? Ten dollars?”
    – Lucille Bluth, Arrested Development

R. Right or left handed: Right-handed. Left for sign-language and other things that function like dishes.

S. Siblings: My doll Nicole, my sister-in-law Mallory and my baby brother Matthew. Also goes by: Matt Matt, Henry, Mush, Boy, Hen, Henny, Henries, Hens, Matt Matt Matt, Youth and others that I will not name in fear of embarrassing him.

T. Time you wake up: Weekday: If working out or Physical Therapy, 5:30 am. If not, 6:30 -7 am. Weekend: Early. My body hates me.

U. Underwear: I don’t understand the question and I won’t respond to it.

V. Vegetables you dislike: Sun-dried tomatoes. Why do those exist!

W. What makes you run late: Nothing. My biggest anxiety is time. I drastically overestimate how long it will take to get somewhere, and so I am always early.

X. X-Rays you’ve had: Teeth, stomach, shoulder, butt, ankle, foot, hip.

Y. Yummy food you make: Magnolia Banana Pudding and My Pasta

Z. Zoo- favorite animal: Pigs, Sheep and Wolves.

Big congrats to Brynn and Refine Methodfor being named NY Magazine’s Best New Workout of 2011. I couldn’t agree more!
