DSB Review: PlantFusion Vegan Protein Powder Giveaway

When I did Refine ReGroup back in June, all the participants worked with Brynn on identifying and maintaining a healthy habit as part of the program. My healthy habit was making sure I incorporated (enough) protein into all my meals. I struggle with that, mostly out of laziness, but also out of… OK, laziness.I’m a vegetarian who doesn’t cook, and I can only eat so much almond butter and hummus.

I’ve never been one to drink a protein shake after a long run or intense class. I know I should, I know it would help muscle recovery, but I don’t. I bought a big expensive thing of protein powder last year and proceeded to never use it. Then I gave it away.

That said, when I read Ashley’s review of PlantFusion, I wanted to give it a try. It seemed simple — just pour into a cup with water and shake — and I really liked the ingredients. It’s vegan, gluten-free and soy-free. For someone with chronic GI problems, this is a dream. The proteins are easily-digestible and hypoallergenic. Their website has some helpful features, like comparisons of PlantFusion versus whey and soy proteins, which I found helpful.

I reached out to the company and they sent me a few sample packets to try. The powder comes in four flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Berry and Unflavored.

After my run this morning, I mixed the Vanilla Bean powder with water, shook it up and drank it. While the drink had a slightly chalky taste, I actually liked it a lot! It was easy to drink, didn’t have any weird aftertaste and took literally 10 seconds to prepare. I was surprised I liked it so much because, well, it’s protein powder. I drank it up quickly and I’m looking forward to having more.

I’m also looking forward to giving the chocolate a try! I’d also like to use the unflavored in a pancake mix soon. The one thing I do cook is breakfast.

If I was non-lazy enough to open my Magic Bullet blender, I’d make a smoothie, but I really don’t see that happening anytime soon. That’s fine since I really enjoyed the protein shake with just powder and water. Easy and tasty. I plan to drink these after Refine classes when I remember, especially on weekends when I’m running around all day.

oo so fun! I would like to try the chocolate. Funny thing is I never really eat chocolate but for some reason with protein shakes I love the chocolate flavors and hate the vanilla.

I am always curious about different protein powder, but am always afraid to buy a jar and not like it. I’d love to try the berry. Thanks for the offer.

Yum! Love a good protein powder! I’d love either the vanilla or the unflavored one so I can throw anything in with it and not worry about the flavors not working together.

More protein was my healthy goal at ReGroup too! Sadly I’ve also fallen off the wagon so would love to try this, especially b/c I too don’t love smoothies (or the hassle) so would love the ease of just mixing it with water. I’d love to try just the plain vanilla, don’t need anything fancy – just the quick protein!

I consider myself a nutritional health nut always being so active! I always make my own protein bars from scratch with all natural organic ingredients! I’d like to win the no flavor so it will even more versatile with all of the recipes I could use it with! I’ve tried an array of berry, chocolate, and vanilla. I’ve never had a “no flavor” one. I also liked them on facebook! Hope I win! 🙂

I’d love to try the unflavored PlantFusion just because it’d be more versatile- you could add to it to make any flavor. I’m curious to try this protein since I’ve started working out regularly- weightlifting, running, and spinning! My muscles hurt and I need to take better care of them. 🙂
